Colchester 2-3 Barnsley- Match Report

Tykes take three points home from ColchesterBarnsley moved off the bottom of the Sky Bet League One table after securing a vital 3-2 victory over fellow strugglers Colchester.Colchester keeper Jamie Jones denied Alfie Mawson and Adam Hammill in quick succession before Conor Hourihane gave Barnsley an 18th-minute lead.He slotted home a low shot after Jones appeared to have brought down Sam Winnall in the area.And Barnsley doubled their advantage five minutes before half-time when Hammill latched onto Winnall's pass and slotted decisively past Jones.Tykes keeper Adam Davies denied substitute Chris Porter just after the restart, while Tom Eastman's header hit the visitors' bar before Barnsley made it 3-0 on the hour.Ivan Toney's downward header from Marley Watkins' cross beat Jones, but George Moncur soon latched onto Porter's pass to slot past Davies in the 67th minute.Three minutes later, Porter smashed in off the underside of the crossbar for 3-2 following Callum Harriott's pass.Davies denied Harriott and Marvin Sordell stabbed wide but Barnsley held on for a very important win
