Penalty Was Fortunate Admits Williams

The U's were trailing to a first-half strike from Iain Hume and looked destined to suffer only their third home defeat of the campaign when they were handed a lifeline by referee Danny McDermid, who awarded them a penalty for a push on Chris Iwelumo by defender Patrick McCarthy.

"It was a long throw into the box and Chris (Iwelumo) went down. Some you get and some you don't and Leicester feel very disappointed with it," Williams said after the 1-1 draw at Layer Road.

"I have since seen it on the video and I think that they have a point.

"Dean (Gerken) kept us in the game with some good saves in the first half.

"We were certainly not firing on all cylinders, so I suppose in the end we have to be happy with the point.

"It didn't quite work for us in the first half. We looked a bit flat but you must give credit to Leicester, especially their front two who looked very sharp."
